As the more astute of you will remember, I had a photo shoot a while ago to promote the debut Dekata Project Viral EP. One of the pictures featured me being thrown across the floor by the power of the music (as in he-man “by the power of greyskull!”), with various music / studio gear in the background, all painted white. Then the other day I spotted the cover for Jay-Z’s new album, The Blueprint 3, and lo and behold, it seems very similar! Loads of white music gear, with a pink/red vibe too. Make your mind up peoples!

Mornin.

Photographer and friend of Dekata Project, Sam Peach, has been working on an exciting new project entitled “The Freelancers”. The project features pictures of creative people who work for themselves, and includes a picture of myself (see below), and also a great picture of Lucy Harvey, who is also part of the Dekata Project team with her style advice. The picture is of me sitting in the live room of my studio, complete with Argos duvets on the walls, and a guest appearance from my cat, Boo.

You can see all of the pictures on Sam’s website, go to projects->the freelancers: http://www.sampeach.com

Here is our bubblin’ under feature, from September’s edition of iDJ Magazine, which mentions both the viral EP and  the new At Least We Can Dance Remixes.

I hooked up with Dekata Project favourites Sam Peach and Lucy Harvey, photographer and stylist respectively, in the studio and on location in East London. The results will be out soon, but here are some shots I took during the day to give you some insight…

Thought I’d share this, went for a wonder before a jazz gig at the Dorchester last week and found the world’s most disco piano, it’s covered in mirror bits just like a glitter ball. Incredible. If only we could use this on Thurday.

We were out at Gilles Peterson’s 10 year Radio 1 anniversary last night, followed by the after party hidden in the depths of Shoreditch. QTip was the main act at the roundhouse, and then jumped on the decks later on at the club. It was his first gig in London for 14 years, and was killing.

Many Dekata Project EPs were being chucked around, if you got one, say hello and join the family. Look out for yourself on the pics below.
